Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron's latest security initiatives: New command vehicle for the Shomron & Operational spotlights for Kiryat Arba
In connection with Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron's ongoing effort to provide comprehensive and efficient emergency services to conflict areas in Israel, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron has taken upon itself to work alongside assorted regional security councils. Since ordinarily such areas are isolated small communities, the emergency response to a security incident usually falls upon the regional council, until the IDF arrives. In order to be prepared for such eventualities, each region has formed its own 'in house' tactical teams, comprised of volunteer residents, which work under the regional security officer. In the event of a security incident, it is the tactical team that responds first to the scene. Therefore, it is imperative, for the safety of the region, that the security and tactical team be efficient and well trained. This system, founded in 1994, has proven itself time and time again. Unfortunately, due to lack of resources and equipment the systems full potential has never been tapped.
Recently, with the help of the The Moskowitz Foundation, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron has acquired a new command vehicle which will service the Shomron region and will be run by Yoni Ha'Yisraeli, the Shomron security officer.
In order to respond in real time to a terror attack, it is essential that the region have a bullet proof vehicle. The vehicle performs routine patrols and allows for safe entry into dangerous situations in the time of a terrorist attack. This allows for a more efficient and precise response during a terror attack.
In addition, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron has acquired and installed operational spotlights on security vehicles in Kiryat Arba. The absence of such basic equipment illustrates just how dire the need for aid in such areas is. After years of night patrols with the help of the car lights alone, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron has installed spotlights on every security vehicle to help both in everyday and emergency instances.
Hatzalah Yeuda and Shomron is grateful for all we have been able to do and we hope that someday soon we will be able to assist with all the needs of these areas in order to help ensure safer lives for everyone.
