In light of the shortage of emergency equipment and the ongoing threat to the cities around Gaza, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron distributed $100,000 worth of equipment donated by the Moskowitz Foundation.
For some time now, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron has been in constant contact with medical personnel in cities around Gaza sharing information and experience gained from many years of treating injured in conflict areas throughout Israel. In light of the constant firing on southern Israel, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron has distributed $100,000 worth of necessary medical equipment. The equipment included: 64 paramedic kits, 5 doctor kits, 15 defibrillators, 100 first aid kits to be placed in shelters, 90 bullet proof vests, 200 fire extinguishers, 30 stretchers, flashlights and more. The distribution took place in the general council of Eshkol. In attendance was Chaim Yalin, director of the regional council along with emergency medical personnel. Prior to the distribution the attendees participated in a briefing of the region's current situation and the procedure and protocol in light of the ongoing threat. Chaim Yalin stressed the urgency for new emergency medical equipment and thanked Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron and especially The Moskowitz Foundation for their help and generosity. Furthermore, he thanked the participants and residents of the region for their strength and solidarity.
In addition to the recent donation, Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron have commanded volunteers for over four years in Sderot and the communities surrounding Gaza. In lieu of the current fighting Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron has arranged for reinforcements to aid the exhausted and over-worked paramedics in the region. The paramedics are being replaced by volunteer personnel from Judea and Samaria so that they may rest up. Hatzalah Yehuda and Shomron intend to keep this up for as long as needed.
